We've talked about how natural burial literally nourishes the soil with the elements from our bodies. But land dedicated to natural burial also offers the opportunity to nourish, restore, and rebuild the natural habitat of the land.

How? Land management practices are key- protecting nesting areas and wildlife corridors through careful trail placement, eliminating invasive species, and reintroducing species that have been lost to logging and development.

Areas dedicated to natural burial both conserve and create habitat. Doing so is an important part of maintaining the ecosystem our bodies will become a part of when they are buried there. From trees to pollinators, mammals to microorganisms a natural burial space allows nature to flourish.
